Advanced Energy Group (AEG) and New England Renewable Energy (NERE) are putting the finishing touches on their first project of 2015. The crew has installed three Electric Vehicle Charge Stations throughout Meriden, Connecticut. Meriden Housing Authority (MHA) and AEG were awarded funding from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to install the charge stations and accompanying signage. The Charge Stations are not restricted to use by AEG or MHA employees, and can be used FOR FREE by anyone in the general public who owns an electric vehicle.
The three locations for these stations are: Broadvale Road (in the Yale Acres complex), Church Street (in the parking lot between the MHA offices and the building that formerly housed the Reserve Performance Center), and 88-92 West Main Street (which can also be used by those who park at the Butler Street Parking Lot). MHA and AEG decided to install EV Charge Stations to continue to promote renewable and clean energy systems in Connecticut.
Later this year, AEG and NERE have other things planned for the Charge Stations. An additional part of the project will see the NERE crew install Solar Carports on the parking spaces designated for the Charge Stations. Keep your eyes open for updates!
