On October 2nd, the Meriden Record Journal highlighted the unique partnership between the Meriden Housing Authority and Advanced Energy Group that is creating a model for renewable energy project development in multi-family housing.

…“I think MHA’s interest in residential and commercial projects reflects the reality that in today’s environment housing authorities and their boards and commissioners know they need to look at many options to make their developments work,” said Lisa Kidder, spokeswoman for the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. “As long as they are keeping their focus on serving the best interest of their residents, housing authorities can strengthen their connections to the community with these kinds of partnerships. Housing authorities can also benefit from the expertise that developers and private investors bring to the partnership. This expertise can be especially helpful when putting together developments that might include mixed-use, mixed-income, or transit-oriented elements.”…
